Gas Tank interchangeability

Will a 1999 tank fit a 1986 bike?
My tank has quite a bit of rust, and I found a '99 Connie tank.

Yes all years fit all years 86 through 06

Only cravat to watch for is that if you pick up on a CA tank it will have a couple extra nipples on the back of the tank for the carbon can vent gizmo to which you simply cap/plug them up.
