Plastic Rivets
« on: September 02, 2013, 05:13:18 PM »
I was taking off the flat black panel just below and to the right of the odometer (the one without the the glove box in it).  I removed the 3 bolts but wasn't aware of the plastic rivet holding it from the front, behind the windshield.  You can probably see where this is going.  I broke the rivet.   >:(

Now I need to order another one or 4 or 5.  I went to a Kawasaki dealer website, and the exploded diagrams are terrible.

Is the plastic rivet that I need part number 92039?  What are 92039A and 92039B - the 2 pieces of the rivet?  I'm guessing that shipping will be more than the part, so if anyone wants me to order them a couple, just let me know.

Take the broken rivet parts or the un-broken one from the other side to a Napa Store and they can match the size you need. They'll probably have to order them for you but they are usually there the next day and the cost is very reasonable.

You might be able to find them in the parts drawer at Lowes.

Check your local bike shops. At least one of them should carry 6mm rivets.
