 :) lol, just rebuilt it, needed tidying (see pic) new full exhaust, replaceded all screws and bolts in stainless, a labour of love. The running light realy helps make the bike more visible to other drivers.

Curious, how much light are we talking about here? Any chance of a night-time pic?

Yup, that's what I thought... those little twinklies would be lost mounted so close to a headlamp;

Maybe if the UK would wise up and change the law it'd be a good thing for us all. Maybe I wouldn't have been knocked off my cute little Kawi 100 back in the mid 70's, had "always-on" been the law back then; or if I'd had the experience to know that I should put my lights on anyway. I got knocked off when some idiot did a three point turn in front of me when I was driving down towards the town center on St. Georges Road in Cheltenham. Crushed my right leg (nothing broken, fortunately) between my petrol tank and the the guy's left wing as I tried to go around him. Went over the bonnet, hit a tree five feet up and landed in a crumpled heap at the bottom. The two-ring clasp on my helmet cut my chin as it was ripped off my head somehow. It was hilarious to watch, said witnesses at the time...

Talking of LED running lights, and LED driving lights, has anyone tried those Optronic Burner Pro LED lights for sale at Walmart? They have the strip lights, like GTR A14 put on, but they also have some round 4- and 5-LED driving lights for a ridiculously low price.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the Halogen ones - they aren't too great - but I'd think it's hard to mess up a group of LEDs.

If nobody has tried them I'll buy, try, and report.

Gosh darn it. Steve, now I hafta ;-)

OK, I'll pick up a set later today, put them on my light bar, and try them out on the drive back up to Minnesota this weekend.

Actually, this has got me thinking... I'm working on a design for a multi-channel, intelligent heated clothing controller. I could use one or two of those channels at a high modulation rate to control the intensity of LED lights. That way a set could be used as DRLs (low intensity), in-traffic augmentors (medium intensity, to go with low beam), and nighttime highway lights (high intensity, to go with high beam).

I went on the Optronics website for more info on these things, but the site is woefully short of real information: there isn't even a beam pattern description or a lumens rating. I emailed them asking for info, saying that if they want to sell the darn things they need to provide information.

 I agree, thats why i figure any extra light helps, the pic doesnt really do the led light justice. My camera is basic, there is definatly an improvement with it lit.
If there was somwhere in the UK where i could get tip over bars id have proper lighting installed !
