C14 OEM Tank Pads
« on: July 12, 2013, 06:46:32 PM »
This is a quality product and it's easy to install. However I don't really care for this type of project because lining everything up is a pita. It's easy when using Windex, you can position it just like you want it but don't walk away until you at least secure a corner because it will fall off and hit the floor! It landed sticky side up, was I lucky? NO! I had to step on it before I noticed it had fallen off >:(. however there was no harm done and everything went well after that.
This material has a kind of "grabby" surface so your squeegee won't work very well, just use a paper towel to push out the Windex. :)

Nice job,I had to pull mine up a couple times to get the right alignment, but they are pretty forgiving and turned out very nice. I don't believe those small pieces you have at the bottom are supposed to be part of it though.

Do you think those are just something they add to make it look good in the package?

They act like decals, I guess it's good they did not include anything else in the package because I would have probably stuck that on also?

I think they are pieces left over from the die Cut process. If you go to the Kawasaki site, you will see they are not in their photo. http://www.kawasaki.com/site/kawasaki/CatImages/items/250x225/L168TPT0057.jpg

Your probably right, however they are made from a different material and it feels/works like a vinyl decal.
If that's the only thing I screw up this week I got it made.

I can still get it on the center stand with a little more effort.

So you can feel the added weight of the pads when you hoist her up on the center stand?  ;)
