Bears Legend Brian Urlacher Retires After 13-Year Career
« on: May 22, 2013, 01:41:51 PM »
 :(

Bears fans will sorely miss him. Bears opponents won't.

Brian Urlacher Tribute (Re-edited)

After 13 years in the NFL as one of the most dominant middle linebackers in the history of the game, former Chicago Bears star Brian Urlacher has retired from the league.

The veteran was a staple of the Bears defense for years and one of the most feared players to ever step onto a football field. With unwavering passion, it was clear from Urlacher’s statement that he didn’t believe he had the same drive he regularly displayed throughout his shining career.

Although Urlacher struggled at times during the last few years of his career, he will mostly be regarded for his consistency in his prime that helped him earn eight Pro Bowl selections and the 2005 AP Defensive Player of the Year award.

Thanks Brian Urlacher! (Career Highlights)

Da Bears have had some decent linebackers, Urlacher is on the list.

Didn't Da Bears have a blind middle linebacker and another one that was crazy years ago?  Who is this Urlacher guy?

I hate to see him go but he hasn't been up to snuff lately.  Briggs has been the best linebacker on the team for the past couple years.  I'll still wear his jersey though, just like my wife wears her McNair jersey when we go to Titans games.

I'll miss him.  It was the ONLY reason to tune into a Bears game.  Guess it's back to watching golf :o

You don't think? Watch those clips I put up. I see Urlacher putting Rodgers to the turf several times.

Rogers and Favre both rare quite familiar with Mr Urlacher. Brian was a helluva linebacker, in the best Bears tradition.

Subject: Football ROY

The coach had put together the perfect team for the Chicago Bears. The only thing that was missing was a good quarterback. He had
scouted all the colleges and even the Canadian and European Leagues, but he couldn't find a ringer who could ensure a Super Bowl
win.

Then one night while watching CNN he saw a war-zone scene in the West Bank . In one corner of the background, he spotted a young
Israeli soldier with a truly incredible arm. He threw a hand-grenade straight into a 15th story window 100 yards away.

KABOOM!

He threw another hand-grenade 75 yards away, right into a chimney.

KA-BLOOEY!

Then he threw another at a passing car going 90 mph.

BULLS-EYE!

"I've got to get this guy!" Coach said to himself. "He has the perfect arm!"

So, he brings him to the States and teaches him the great game of football. And the Bears go on to win the Super Bowl.

The young man is hailed as the great hero of football, and when the coach asks him what he wants, all the young man wants is to call
his mother.

"Mom," he says into the phone, "I just won the Super Bowl!"

"I don't want to talk to you, the old woman says."You are not my son!"

"I don't think you understand, Mother," the young man pleads. "I've won the greatest sporting event in the world. I'm here among
thousands of my adoring fans."

"No! Let me tell you!" his mother retorts. "At this very moment, there are gunshots all around us. The neighborhood is a pile of
rubble. Your two brothers were beaten within an inch of their lives last week, and I have to keep your sister in the house so she
doesn't get raped!" The old lady pauses, and then tearfully says,

"I will never forgive you for making us move to Chicago !!!!"
