No, battery voltage is more complicated than that. Look up the voltage tables for the particular chemistry battery and you will see the voltage changes with battery life but it will not be 3.00 volts new or mostly used.

Aluminum foil will help reduce electrical noise but not nearly as well as steel. And the thikcer the material, the better it is at absorbing RF and general electrical noise. And to be really effective, the shield has to be grounded. The only reason Al foil works to shield the RF from a fob is because the signal is extremely weak to begin with. HID ballasts use a lot of power, tens of thousands of time more than an RF fob, and generate a huge amount more electrical noise. Also, to really reduce the electrical noise from HID's, they would have to be fully contained inside a thick metal enclosure- I mean all the wires, the lamps and everything. So even if it did work there would not be any light getting out....  ;D

Holy responces batman.   So what is the battery supposed to read says 3v on the battery itself and I get 3v on multimeter ?

As for tin foil does that really work if so and it will solve my issues I will wrap the ballasts and igniters Lol.

Rode today without any issues ... Hmm

I am not sure there really is such a thing as "tin" foil anymore, since most foils I have seen are aluminum.  Aluminum foil can, indeed, help to shield RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) generating devices, especially if it is grounded.  But steel or nickel will shield much better.

I'm talking about the ballast and wiring you Twit!  It goes without saying that the helmet should be lined with tin foil as well.  Doesn't everyone do that?  Look at me, I have metal all over to protect from spurious radiation.

He calls me a twit while he runs around in a tin suit...    ;)

You're right about your suit protecting you from spurious radiation and from the aliens reading your mind (as if they would want to) but remember the law of unintended consequences...

No, you can't ask that question....

But if you could ask....the answer would be that it should 'wake up' on the first press.  Mine does and it shows a picture of the key. It could be that the 10+ bikes are slower to respond...just sayin.

Slower in yet another way.    ;)

Yep, I put the FOB on the seat, push down and hold even. Have to do it a couple three times before it shows the key icon on the screen. Like I said new battery too. Thanks guys, when I get to civilization I will have it looked at. I'm in Tonopah, NV right now working using a secret computer  :-X , map that and you'll know what I mean :)

You're at the Tonopah Station Casino?
