Any iPhone/iCloud/Outlook guru's here?

I ditched my Android phone today and bought a new iPhone 5. I got home and logged n to iTunes to try and sync some music, no issues there. I installed a few apps that I knew I would need. Then I installed iCloud and that's when things went sour. Now all of my contacts and calendars in Outlook on my PC are gone. I have searched the net and found a bunch of posts and issues that are the same as mine, but so far I haven't found an answer. Anyone here experience this and know how to resolve it?

I uninstalled iCloud from my PC and Outlook returned to normal. I cant help but think that there must be a way to get these two to play nice together.
