I have no experience with this on the C14 but put an aftermarket can on my VTX and blocking off the pair valves made a huge difference on decal popping. It didn't eliminate but was MUCH better.

I plugged that hose on mine with full Muzzy exhaust and a remapped ECU and I still get quite a bit of decel pop. If it bothers me I just pull the clutch in and it goes away  ;D

Are we actually talking about two different sounds here? I consider the deceleration popping, which is caused by cold air being introduced into the exhaust different than the sound of a full throated exhaust under heavy engine braking. Like Gumby I have a full Muzzy system w/ air hose plugged. Due to the slipper clutch on this bike engine braking isn't as strong as on other bikes but is causes a nice (to me) rumble down to lower rpms. True decel popping is a rude lean running noise.

p.s. I use the term exhaust, for simplicities sake, to include everything from the headers back to the muffler tips.

Full AreaP exhaust with the Carbon Fiber can, PC-V, no autotune (no O2 sensor), air hose blocked.  I only get the occasional pop/burble usually from second gear to first at higher RPMs.

I have the same setup and the same experience.

I got a custom map and get very, very little popping.  I don't know whether my mechanic plugged that line or not, however.

Just a question regarding the fresh air valve.  Is it purely mechanical or does the ECU control the valve.  I was wondering because down the road I go with re-tuned ECU say from Guhl would he be able to turn off the function.
I always wanted to be somebody......I guess I should have been more specific.

Rawman,

I am looking at that same pipe.  How do you like it?  Was it worth it?  How has it changed your fuel consumption/power??
