One man fork dis-assembly
« on: May 17, 2014, 05:03:25 PM »
I found that using a drill press vice and ratcheting tie downs greatly reduce the effort required to take the forks apart and then to put them back together when you do the job without assistance from another person or well trained monkey.  My ratcheting tie downs happen to be 15 feet long so I simply clamped them with a pair of vice grip clamps and wooden shims to achieve the proper length rather than take several wraps around the handles of the hold down tool and the socket extension.  I purchased and used the fork tools from Traxxion to get the job done.
