Insurance in MASS
« on: March 13, 2013, 08:42:51 AM »
Travelers won't insure my home or cars because I'm installing a Zipline. My Insurance Agent has found someone who will insure the Home, Acord, and suggests I go with Plymouth Rock for my cars and motorcycle, but it costs $300 more on top of what I thought was already an expensive policy.

I just started to call around to check if I'm getting the best deal and AllState informs me they can't insure Motorcycles in Mass. Before I was time calling others....any suggestions?

Should I split my policy up, Auto's with AllState or other, and Motorcycle with Progressive or other?

Installing a zipline? Is that for your personal use or are you wanting to start a business? How long and how high is this thing gonna be? I can't help with the insurance, I was just curious about your zipline.

Maybe you shouldn't have told your insurance company?   ;)

Sorry should have expanded. Zipline is for personal use. Reason I told agent/insurance is I don't want to give them any reason to deny any claim, which they can do since I didn't notify them of a change in my property/risk profile.

I'm not looking for coverage on the Zipline, I'm happy if the Insurance company excludes it, which is what Acord is happy to do. The question is who's best to cover the auto's+motorcycle.

Stay away from Allsnake and Progressive has that name for a reason...

Who do you recommend then?

Have you tried Dairyland?  I've heard pretty good things about them... MC wise.  I've been with Farmers for decades... so I get pretty good rates.

Safeco, Markel for bike

Markel just quoted 309 annual for my 08 with state minimums, 500 deductible and roadside.

YMMV, I moved from Dairyland to Progressive a few years back. Haven't done a price check in a while though, so maybe it's time.

I've got Commerce Ins. through AAA.  They won't combine the bike and the car together but I find their rates pretty good.
