Last summer I had a bunch of parts powder coated but a couple pieces the finish wasn't holding up as well as I would have liked (upper triple clamp and gasshole ring). So I just bought a couple used ones off ebay last week and had them black nickel plated, I picked em up from the plater this afternoon and they look great, it's supposed to be stronger than powder coat.
I figure sense my Connie will be in the shop anyway next week I'd get these done so they could swap em out.

That looks like a satin finish in the pics. Did the plater use any chromium or just nickel? I like it.

Yes GP, it's a satin finish, which is what I wanted.
They said they had to do a couple different plates to get everything to stick right, I know one layer was zinc, one layer was copper, and there was another layer too under the black nickel, maybe that layer I'm forgetting the name was the chromium?
It was a pretty slick process, but to be honest when he was explaining it to me I felt like I was back in chemistry class...

As for cost OCK... well it's kinda a long story but I know a guy from a thing we did back at this place...
