Basically new 2008 Concours in PDX area $8850.
« on: December 01, 2012, 12:19:10 AM »
Spotted this on Craigslist (don't know anything about it).  So, in case anyone is looking for a basically new 2008, this one supposedly has only 24 original miles on it.  Ad claims it's been stored indoors, and taken care of.

Just for the heck of it I ran the VIN at Kawasaki's website. It doesn't look like ANY of the recalls have been done. It really looks like this bike has sat for a long time. I wonder what the story is on that?

I would guess military ownership. If it was from a dealer and never titled I would buy it.

How can one possibly buy a bike like this and have 24 miles on it after three years?  Even if I rode it only once, I would put probably at least 150 miles on it.

Maybe the owner lived next door to the dealership...  Crying shame to have one of those bikes and only put on 24 miles in three years but it could also be something happened and he/she couldn't ride anymore.

The ad says the bike is in Canby Oregon, and according to Google Maps, that's 23 miles from the biggest dealer in the area (Beaverton).  Perhaps they bought it, rode it straight home, and never rode it again.

Not sure if the curiosity is there yet to call them and ask what the story is, but if we run out of theories, I might have to.
