Too wide (1200) for some of the areas I ride, I also have a Giantloop for storage when I head to them kinda places. I also like the wet clutch, something the new 1200 fixed. The boxes serve two purposes, advertising for the school, dry storage for the 'puter, camera, and a place for stuff when SWMBO comes along. The list of farkles on this bike rivals ZGs list by a fair margin, the PO is the GM for the Seattle BMW shop so money wasn't an issue. He decided to go the 1200 route as he wasn't doing as much DS riding as he was touring so he decided to sell and use the bike provided by the store. I would have had the GS in the Seattle IMS this year but the invite was a tad too late. Next year for sure. So far I only have the BMW MOA rally, Black Dog rally, Alt Rider Hoh Rainforest and Rally in the Gorge, along with 4 Adventure Camps, and 3 WA BDR training events on the schedule for the GS. Whatever will I do with the rest of my time? I also have Lee Parks TCC instructor training in the near future as well, wouldnt want Connie left out of the picture. I also can't leave out three trips to the track for the Advanced Street Skills class, one of which I will do on the GS for fun.
Next up is the upgrades to the YZ450F!!!! Once I mount the new tires I'll post up some pics of her, as well as better GS pics, weird cloud cover and water reflections off the lake really screwed me up (my story Steve, don't wreck it, I was lazy with the polarizer).
Life is rough when riding is a profession
Chet, I sure like your new office!!
Thanks, it suits me well. My father and I built it back around '76. Hand peeled, flattened with a chainsaw, and hand cut dovetail joints. The original roof was all hand split shakes. For whatever reason we never installed a door or the windows, it's served as storage for fishing gear, straw for the wild geese, and a place for wood to season. That cedar tree in the background? We had a stake in the ground to avoid breaking it when we built the cabin. Getting big.
