Cali carbs and idle/mixture screws.
« on: November 23, 2012, 09:14:37 AM »
Some time over the next few months I'm going to be pulling the carb rack to check/adjust the mixture screws and perhaps fitting SISF's 2 min mod kit.

I've read on many occasions that the best/optimum setting for the mixture screws is 2 turns out but does this setting also apply to those 06 bikes fitted with Cali carbs?

Thanks guys  :).

Ys it does... While 2 turns out is not an exact setting it is a great starting point and many owners find that they are quite with the results.

In case it isn't clear which is the start jet, the attached photo (from here some time ago) has it pointed out. I found my local hobby shop has quality number drills all the way down to #80 (.0135"). .020 is a #76 (but a .5 mm is awfully close, in case one is more easily obtained).
Steve, when drilling the start jet, does one need to drill the air bleed as well as the jet (they seem very close in size), or just the jet?
Now if I can only get my own POS carbs to work...
