How to pick fuse size for fuse box accessories?

How do you determine which size fuse to use for accessories when you start hooking into your fusebox?

Some of that depends on if you are protecting the circuit or if you are protecting the device.  I size the fuse to the device the next size but never more than the power the thinest wire will carry.  Having an Amp metter helps alot.   For example, if I wired a 5 amp piece of equipment, I would find a 6 amp fuse, even though the number 14 wire will carry more than that.

watts divided by volts = amps
