I don't have any power grinders right now besides a 4.5 inch angle grinder. I need something to sharpen my TIG tungstens a bit better.
I can do some wood project sanding, Sharpen Tungsten(dedicated belt or wheel) and add a buffing wheel for polishing stuff, and sharpen knives.
I am a bit worried about the low power(1/2hp), And are 2"x 28" belts standard?
1/2 HP is adequate, but I bet the specs are
way inflated.
I picked up a beater 1x30" Delta belt sander at a GROJ (Get Rid Of Junk) sale many moons ago, it's adequate for what I use it for. Sharpening TI 'lectrodes, wood working, [rough] sharpen knives...
Tip: do NOT buy sanding belts from Harbor Fright, they are total junk (but cheap!)
Buffer is nice I guess, I don't use one. If I did, having the cotton buff right next to a 36 grit grinding wheel/belt appears to be misdemeanor dumb, bordering on felony stupid.
