I painted my mirrors to match today.  Looks much better!  You can do it yourself also.

1- order your paint from www.color-rite.com in aerosol cans. You will need plastic adhesion promoter, basecoat(2 basecoats if you have a candy color), and clearcoat.

2- remove your mirrors
3- clean thoroughly
4- lightly sand wet with 600 grit paper
5- dry and clean again
6- mask off what you dont want painted
7- paint the plastic parts with adhesion promoter
8- apply basecoat(s) [mine is candy red and required a silver basecoat and about 6 coats of candy red basecoat]
9- apply clearcoat
10 re-assemble!

Looks great!! I let mine set for a few days to harden up due to the paint is a bit soft. Give it a few weeks and cut and polish them, followed by a good set of wax. They take a beating out in the airflow. I like that you painted the base as well.  :) :)

I havent had any issues with soft paint.  I have used color-rite for mirrors on my pc800 also with great results.  I might cut and buff them in the future, but they look great the way they are now.  I wish they were painted at the factory along with the bags.  The connie looks much better when painted to match.  I might do the bags next.  I have reflective red vinyl on them now which looks and works great.

@ F-106, I have to admit, I am very jealous of your painted bags.  I worked in an autobody shop as a painter for many years and know how hard it is to paint textured plastic.  GREAT JOB!
