Test Ride required.......
« on: August 15, 2012, 12:30:09 PM »
Hello everybody,

I just sold my Beemer GS 1200 and now I am ready to jump to the ST segment.

Does anybody know if any dealer in IL allows test rides.. or if there are some rental places where I can test ride a GT 14 second gen.?

Thank you for your help

Safe riding

Damian

I don't know where in IL you are but my dealer not only allows test rides, they encourage it! I was there today getting the brake recall work done and they practically forced me to test ride a '12.

Used I'm sure they all do, new bikes maybe not.
Heck the only reason I have a C14 is because I test rode one on a whim. Was there test riding Spyders, rode the C14 for the hell of it and bought it two days later.  ;D

It was a demo '12. The head tech rides this bike.

I didn't either. I bought my bike from another dealer. Open Air wasn't in business at that time.

Nice, my local dealer does not have any 12 demos.  :(
But that fine, I am in love with my '08.

One of the dealers here in town has three '12 Kawasaki bikes available for test drive. Told me it was a Kawasaki promotion that's going on, so might be available elsewhere. They give you about 20 minutes to try them out. They have a 1000 Ninja, a Connie, and a Vulcan 1700 bagger. You might just give your local dealer a call.

This website lets you search for a demo ride. I don't think it's part of the program I mentioned above, but lets you check by your zip code where the nearest demo ride is located.

'14 BMW 1200 GSw (red, what little there is that's not grey)
'11 Concours ABS (black) w/ Leo Vince carbon, heated Corbin, Garmin; TechSpec pads (gone but not forgotten)
'05 Yamaha FZ6, only crashed once, gone in trade; '87 Honda Gold Wing Aspencade, sold; '85 Honda Magna (700), sold; '76 Kawasaki KZ400, sold

Go to the Kawasaki web site, click on Motorcycle, click on Sport Tourer, click on Demo Dealers
