Headstone Engraving
« on: July 24, 2012, 05:19:09 AM »
Here is the headstone of Russell J. Larsen in the Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah.

I wonder if he died knowing that he had won the 'Coolest Headstone' contest?

Here are his five rules for a happy life as he indicated on his headstone:

FIVE RULES FOR MEN TO FOLLOW FOR A HAPPY LIFE:

                         1. It's important to have a woman who helps at home,
cooks from time to time, cleans up, and has a job.

                         2. It's important to have a woman who can make you
                         laugh.

                         3. It's important to have a woman who you can trust,
                         and doesn't lie to you.

                         4. It's important to have a woman who is good in bed,
and likes to be with you.

                         5. It's very, very important that these four women
do not know each other or you could end up dead like me.

Yeah, I sent this to a friend who sent me back this reply:

Having been to the Logan UT cemetery because a relative is buried there (my Father grew up in UT), I have personally seen the headstone of Russell J. Larsen, the main part of which is inscribed as follows:

Two things I love most,
good horses and beautiful women,
And when I die I hope they tan this old hide of mine
and make it into a ladies riding saddle,
So I can rest in peace
between the two things I love

Russell J. Larsen buried in Logan, Ut.

I have a photo of it somewhere

A far better story than the e-mail which has been going around.
The "five rules' are written on the base.

It's a wonder the photographer didn't take a picture of that.  I'm a member of 'Find a Grave' and that's an important part of the headstone that needs to be documented.
