Kit comes with wiring harness for power, but I just plugged my car adaptor into it and plugged into utility outlet. Works nicely. GPS/voice etc to Scala G4. Using the Garmin USA softare.

Cool. Do they make it for other smart phones? Can you still use the touch screen while in the case?
-
yeah, looks like they have a "universal" kind that is a "bag" that will mount on techmount. also make a nonwater proof for Samsung Galaxy S3.
touch screen works with bare finger through the case screen, so with gloves would need some touchscreen compatible gloves.

so real test today....lets see if phone overheats in the 100 degree weather riding home. I'll letcha know. I already think I should pull the oven glove box off the tank and slap some heat shielding under it like I saw Fred Harmon do in one of his videos. The heat kinda travels up through the box "below" where the phone is mounted.

That was my concern... my iPhone overheated in 80 degrees last year, and it was only partially exposed to the sun. But, it didn't have any real air circulation on it when that happened. After that, I kept it IN my tank bag with no further issues. I was only using it for music, anyway.

Failed. after about an hour in 95+ air temp plus heat from engine, it shut down the radios. So, I'll give it a shot with some heat shielding under the tank top oven and see if that makes a difference. lessee.

I don't think it's heat from the bike... I think it's heat from the sun being caught by the glass of the phone. When it happened to me, there was NO way engine heat was getting to it, as it was on the top of my tank bag (and the water IN the bag was still kinda cool).

FIgures...maybe I'll try a lil makeshift flip-up/down screen cover...be interesting to see if that will make a difference. I WAS putting it through the ringer though...3G, GPS receiver, powercord, and active voice comms going at same time.
