Just bought an Ohlins rear shock today and I think I want to try and keep it clean... ;)
Who makes the best looking carbon fiber rear huggers? Prices, links, and pics please brutha's. (So far looking at the ProjektD one, but I seem to remember other options out there too...) :-\
Thanks! :chugbeer:

You are gonna get that bike just how you like it.......then you will sell it. ;)

It wouldn't be the first time Poke... ;) :loco: :banghead:

Well, slow, low mileage, heavily farkled, in-famous mag cover garage queens usually sell at a good price, how about Jay, will you take $5k? I really want the bike so I made the offer a bit high ;D
There is a guy (Blue oval I think) who was going to make them, but instead he came up with a snow shovel for the rear, something along the lines of "We really don't need one anyway". What are we to know. It sure would be nice if MCenterprise got in the game, we'd have the hugger of our dreams. I'd even be interested in an aluminum or maybe titanium hugger with some nice graphics to compliment the bike. Hmmmm, maybe Ryan will consider something like this? An affodable, low cost to design and manufacture functional farkle? I think I'll ask if their interested.

ProjektD sells Skidmarx Huggers, at least they did in the past. I have the non CF hugger on my bike. Since I ride with my bags on I wasn't going to spend the extra money because you can hardly see the hugger when the bags are on.
I have pics of mine, you want?
-
So with these huggers, aren't you just moving the dirty spot somewhere else?

Yeah, to the underside of the hugger.

smart ass

;D

And since the hugger is....well....hugging the tire, you don't see nearly as much dirt.
Pappy, I don't believe you used "low cost" and "Titanium" in the same paragraph. LOL

Have you seen Jays list of Farkles? If it were black and made of unubtanium you can bet he'll have it ;)
-
There is only one company that makes a hugger for the C14 and that is Skidmarx in the UK. It is available in FRP and Carbon Fiber and is retailed by ProjectD in Taiwan or Streetfighters by Design in the US.

Make it $5k and a log of those pouches and we have a deal Chet! ;)

I actually never really had any interest in the hugger, but now I'm thinking doing it just to try and keep crap off the Ohlins. That is what they're designed for right?? :-\

Here's Necron's pics of his CF hugger. http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=8441.msg108112#msg108112 (http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=8441.msg108112#msg108112)

Thanks C.
So that's the ProjektD one right? Is the ProjektD one the same one that David Kork is selling or are they different?
On the pic attached it looks like it really hangs down quite a bit under the swingarm, I didn't think they hung down that low... ??? Is that lower part hanging down visible from the side too if standing next to the bike or is it just more obvious from that low angle upward pic you posted? :-\

PorjectD and David Cork are both selling the Skidmarx hugger, so yes, it's the same.
Heck no, you can't even see the part of the hugger that's hanging down unless you get down low like I did for that shot.
-
Yeah, when you get down under the bike you go "WOW that thing really hangs down there!" but you don't see it unless you're on the ground.
So I guess the gophers might laugh at it. But everyone knows that Gophers are V-Twin cruiser types anyway.
I believe you get a better deal from Skidmarx than Projekcd.
-
Not quite as satisfying but much cheaper is a shock sock, kinda like a large (magnum?) plastic fabric condom that slips over and around the shock to keep it clean.................safe suspension?
I'm sure Dan Kyle has them for cheap.

Got mine from David...saved a boat load on shipping over ProjektD. ProjektD was something like $70 for shipping.

Not true. Motax in France also makes one, and I have one on my 2010. I chose theirs because the mount positions shift it more towards the back, providing more hugger to the rear, and it doesn't hang down past the swing arm in the front.

I couldn't find an English version of their site though.

The Motax looks great. How much was it with shipping?

Looks good Rob, I already pulled the trigger on the one from David Cork though, should arrive later this week. Thanks anyway though bro! :chugbeer:

Probably more then the Skidmarx one, but I don't know now. On the Motax site, it's listed as 150 €, which is around $200. Shipping added another $50 to $75 as I recall. I bought mine over a year ago, and added a set of hand wings to the purchase, so I can't really comment on on the cost to a buyer today. Also, I had the top of it painted by a shop (it comes unpainted). I coated the bottom side with some truck bed liner stuff myself.

Yep, I saw that. Just trying to set the record straight that there's more than one supplier.

Thanks. I stand corrected.
