Title: Neutral light not always working
Post by: jimiz on July 10, 2012, 03:00:52 PM
Hey guys.  I have an odd situation going on with my bike.  Maybe someone here can shed some light on it.

Just recently I am having problems with the neutral light not always showing up when in neutral.  Something else that happened is that I couldn't get the bike to idle in neutral with the kickstand down.  I had to put it up and it would idle fine.  Also the neutral light wasn't on but it was definitely in neutral.

I had the clutch fluid drained and replaced.  It shifts nicer, but the neutral light still will sometimes work, sometimes not, and sometimes it seems to flicker a little.  Is this a loose connection?  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Yes loose or corroded connection at the neutral switch and/or its mating connection. You will find the neutral switch on the left closest to where the gear shift lever comes out of the case. You might try spraying it and the connector down with WD40 and see it that helps.
