My 08 tank has started to rust, and rather than get it resprayed or patched, I can get a second hand tank fairly cheap.
How difficult is it to replace the tank? When I removed the flies, I just moved it out of the way.
Anyone know if it is a big job?

If you already moved it you were half way there. No big deal. Before you install the new used tank make sure the inside is clean and rust free. You might also pull the pump and clean the filter.

simple to do, also maybe peek at the service manual. if you don't have one you can see a fische of it at ronayers.com

I just realised this is on Fred's DVDs/ I've managed to source new tank so will be fitting that. I'll clean the fuel filter at the same time as the bike has now done over 50k

Whats the best way to drain the fuel tank? I'll run it low as possible, but there will be some left
