I think doing the wheels in black would help that pic GZ... :-\
-
Sweet - a matching KiPass would be awesome!

Anything that prevents the bike from being all black is a plus, however ;)

oh damn that would be hard to do with that program. its a pain to do details. I'll try it but it will take some time

Start with a pic that already has black wheels, there's plenty of pics in the pic thread to choose from... ;)
-
not too bad on the wheels. tried the grovebox but that just doesn't look right.

I think it would really pop if there were no bags on it. the whole tail section would show red.
wish I could find a stock pic from the front. I would show the pipes with red rap and also red out the ram air intake molding and screens. maybe the mirrors also.

You could also go green GZ... 8)

I do like that. I think thats the only downfall of the black model. theres no contast between the lower scope and the fairings
-
That's the green I was looking for when first thought of getting this bike.... but the dark green proposed was not the same thing. ???
Luckily black was available so I got it... but Kawa green is in my heart! :D
-
why are you doing this on the OLD tired style of the bike . Do it on the new style so we can see what it would look like.

I agree. All that high friction paint will just slow the fastest color bike. Do it to the slower gen 2 where it won't matter.

As much as it pains me to say this.....make the wheels black.

hey Jim if you go back and look at the first pic of the thread the wheels are silver. look at the last pic and I darkened them up some but tried to leave some detail instead of just two black circles.
compare the two and its night and day

Cuz I'm not a rich guy like you, who can get the new year model every year ;D 09 is what I have so gotta go with what I know!! if I ever get a wild hair to do this at least I have an idea of what it will look like... 8)

Try Pixlr. It's a web-based program. Only done basic stuff with it, but seems decent.

I always just use GIMP (and do like it). Was just curious about that other program if it was designed specifically for color changing vehicle photos. Not a big whoop.

I LOVE the dark Triumph green on the Euro spec 2010's. Why didn't they make that color available here?

I saw that picture of the euro green 2010 and it is pretty fantastic. It is a shame there aren't more than two color choices per year. Really, there is only one color choice per year if you don't like black. I suppose it would be a logistics nightmare with more colors, though.

no the program is just a free do all image editor. basicly I just used the brush option and painted the parts myself. took a few trys to get details cuz no one ever acused me of being an artist :o

I like the Euro green and Moondust. And of course Neptune Blue is awesome....

I have to say, I like this green. Along with the Kawasaki version, GM is painting the new Camaro's a very similar metallic green that is also very nice.

I was able to sit on one of the dark green ones when I was in England in April. ALways been partial to that color on Jags and Triumphs with Tan interiors. Got to admit I was smitten. THe sales guy said he had stripped a Honda of all the body panels in Yellow and shipped them to a guy in New Jersey who had to have that particular color on his bike as it was not available in the US. I considered it for a brief moment.......

I like the copper color at the bottom left of page in this link. http://www.tcpglobal.com/hokpaint/hok-shimrin-metajuls.aspx (http://www.tcpglobal.com/hokpaint/hok-shimrin-metajuls.aspx)
Can anyone photoshop that?

that is a nice color. my cheap free program won't let me use any colors that are not in the program already.

OK cool. You think that cooper color is less visible than the nice green color You used? I definitely like the visibility aspect of the green.

I did the red one, but I think the green really stands out like a neon sign over the copper color. but that copper is awesome and would look good on the c14.

My apologies. Yeah, I'm pretty sold on the copper color. I have a House of Color shop here locally, so I think I'll go look at that paint chip in their shop.

How's this?

-
Neat stuff Mike! Thanks Man.
-
you're welcome.
-
Here's blue.
-
Nice! That from the paint store link also?
-
No, I adjusted the hue & saturation of the copper one to get this shade of blue.
-
Well, I'll be damned. Cool!

Saw this one at WSB last week -

A friend who had crashed their VFR replaced the red bodywork with the European blue bodywork. I would love one in the sapphire blue of the Triumph Sprint ST that I traded in for my C14 last weekend, I still prefer a blue color.
-
Here's blue.
I just saw a ZX14R in the show room almost this color today.

Try changing back half off front fender (to include the fork protector area) to black. It will flow better. Just watched new episode of American Chopper so I'm qualified.
