Title: Add on mirrors
Post by: mtn.connie on May 22, 2011, 05:22:50 PM
I had seen (before the crash) that someone had some convex mirrors that were mounted on top of the stockers. Can anyone provide a source for these?

I just add some small automotive blindspot mirrors, makes a world of difference.

I was thinking that. Where on the mirror did you place them?

I have been using these for a few years:

They were something like $6 from Pep Boys if I remember correctly. They completely eliminate the blind spots on both sides of the bike.

The round convex mirror 'stick on' types work OK but take up quite a bit of stock mirror space.

If you place them at the inside lower corner, all it blocks is your view of the side luggage bags, but you still get a wide-angle view of the road beside you.

I put mine on the lowest outer corner... They seem to work very well there...

Here's where I stuck mine. I can see the blind spots plus the lil convex mirror doesn't take up any useful mirror real-estate. The only thing you can see in the bike's mirror where I stuck em are the bags anyways.

I bought some round blind spot mirrors at Wal Mart, they rotate to adjust what I'm looking at.  I stuck them on the lower inside corners of my mirrors, now I get some useful information in that area instead of looking at the front of the bags.

That's like one of the road signs that I pass every day on my commute.

How do they know?
