Title: A look at a damaged front caliper
Post by: Tactical_Mik on May 22, 2011, 07:20:13 AM
You may remember from before the crash that I had a stripped brake retention pin that allowed one of the four pads for my left brake caliper to fall out causing issues.....Here is a look at what happens.

side view of piston notice the angle of grind.  I'm suprised that it didn't pop the piston out.  I rebuilt the caliper replacing seals and piston, the bore wasn't marred.

That's amazing, as I said before you were very fortunate this didn't turn out worse.

Couldn't agree more.  Like I said, I am suprised the piston didn't pop out.  By the way, rebuilding the caliper is actually quite easy.
