I bit the bullet last week (so to speak) and ordered the front (un-heated) seat and smuggler for my "FASTER" ;D ;D candy red 2009 C14 ;D ;D
The front seat will be made of vinyl due to me riding year round and Seattle rain.

As I can't ride for several more weeks, this will be an ideal time to re-adjust the wiring for the Fuze block, fitting a new air filter and pre-flighting Mr.Zoom.
Pictures will be posted when I get the farkles.

Uhmmmm, who said it was? As long as you treat the leather with a good conditioner there should be no problem. Leather is more supple than vinyl or other synthetics and becomes more comfortable with use.

Leather requires that you regularly apply proper moisturizers, repellent, and UV inhibitors. Else leather is prone to drying, cracking, fading, splitting, water-logging, etc. It does depend on the quality of the leather, how often it is used, what conditions it sees, etc. Of course, you can't beat the comfort of leather!!

I am too lazy, so my Sargent has vinyl and I am quite happy with it.

Post by: jonathan on May 04, 2012, 08:35:54 AM: The Smuggler does not seal around the edges like the OEM seat does so there is an opportunity for water to get in underneath. The OEM electrics are adequetly protected, but you may want to condider some kind of protection for your Fuzeblock.

Corbin stated that the items may be shipped next week depending on how the paint work goes on the smuggler.

I wouldn't seal the Fuze block itself. I would be more inclined to put some kind of rubber membrane over everything and tuck it under the fairing at the edges so that all of the electronics are protected. Check it out when you get your Smuggler and see what you think.

I have just sent an e mail to Corbin outlining my disappointment and I have asked for an RMA so that they can fix the issues.

I did have to move the bottom part of the latch forward to make it workie.

Post by: papaboomboom on May 27, 2012, 05:58:37 PM: I live near Corbin Factory. Had numerous rounds with smuggler. Once corrected it has been wondeful and hasn't left the bike. Their QC is just terrible but the workers are certainly willing to make it right. Believe it or not I can get my makeup, ipad, cell phone, Zumo 660, toolkit, tire gauge, and extra helmet windshield inside and still leave room for my gloves/glasses when I stop.
