Title: New Real Time logo reflectors
Post by: Gumby on April 20, 2012, 07:34:22 AM
Alex created some new logo reflectors for the C14. My bike is the poster child for these, check'em out.

He is offering a 10% discount on everything at http://realtimeindustries.com/ (http://realtimeindustries.com/) for this forum.  'Kawasaki' is the coupon code. Also free shipping on orders over $80.

Does posting this many pictures in one thread remind you of anybody?

I don't think you've got the record yet. :)

Those are hot!  Too bad I already have the plain ones.  I doubt they'll sell an inexpensive upgrade kit.

Is it possible to get "GTR" on both sides? The "K" isn't really doing it for me.

Thanks for installing these and taking picutes for me Tom!

Here is a bit of my background.  I've been into sport touring for about 9 years after coming from cruisers and jumping to the FJR back in 2003.  I don't ride much around my area as I live in Nebraska however my wife and I really enjoy taking 2-3 long trips a year still working out to 13-15k miles a year.

I started Real Time Industries back in 06' designing decals for my own bikes and friends rides.  I have since fabricated light mounts and moved into carrying some of the products that I've been personally using on my bike for years.

I'm happy to offer the discount to you guys as you have been purchasing quite a few reflective kits lately!  Let me know if you have any product suggestions as we are a small shop and are pretty flexible.

-Alex

I'd be interested in some die-cut logos or designs made out of the reflective material. Something near invisible until the light hits it...

I'd like to have the K on the left and GTR on the right with 14 under it or 1/2 size to the right of GTR? :o :D

Fantastic, Alex!  Glad to have you on board, and I'm glad to hear you're receptive to idea.  I sent an idea once to your contact info on your site, but it must have been lost.

I agree with Jonathan, on the GTR on both sides thing vs. the big K.  I don't have any idea how your production runs so those kinds of options may be really hard or really easy for your business.  But obviously within the scope of cost effectiveness and ROI, more options more better.

Another reflective sticker idea I had would be a panel for this area:

Something that takes up a good portion of that would be a FANTASTIC lighted and reflective area to help ward off that nasty T-Bone incident.  That black reflective would blend in really well, would last a good long time, and be pretty functional.

Thanks for listening!

Necron, If you are going for the MC canyon cages, how about narrow strips to be applied to the crash bars? It would be close to your picture.

I like the idea of covering up the area that Necron shows. This would also protect, at least a little, against dirt and rock chips.. Although, I think it would have to be a couple of pieces, maybe some type of design. Putting one big piece on down there and trying to get all the air bubbles out would prove to be difficult.

Remember he would also have to have separate packages for 1st gen and 2nd gen.

I just wonder how they are supposed to make black reflectors  :o
On second thoughts, maybe matte black decals would look cool, but as deflectors...  :-\

Actually Martin these are black, they only reflect white when head lights hit em...  8)

Can I get the copyright to the "Your Losing" reflective decal kit?
For the silver bikes of course!

You 08-09 guys are so funny....  like anyone will remember your years in short order.... ;)

I think a one piece could be done easily enough but I just want more reflective, period.  More better.  I doubt I'll do my canyon bars, I'm getting those color matched powdercoated.

IMO, I think the 08/09 will go down in Connie history as the best years! Much like the 87/88 911 Porsche did for the air/oil cooled 911!  It was a better 911 better than the 86 and prior and not water cooled like the forward models...

The 08/09 Connie has no speed govener, no linked brakes, and better bodywork lines, limited edition only for 2 years...  8)

If you don't have one... well you just suck.  ;D

+1!
Better still, from the limited edition, Kawasaki did just like AMG: the black series --> the fastest of all!  8)

Although you surely jest, I will pretend it is serious and disagree completely.

1) Very few people care about 5MPH or whatever top speed difference, because we will never go that fast.

2) Many people consider the linked brakes a desirable feature, either way it is no big deal.

3) Sorry, but the "lines" of 2nd gen fairings are more attractive.

4) The 2nd gen has a myriad of very nice improvements missing in the 1st gen:  Heat management, nicer exhaust, autolocking glove compartment, higher mirrors, improved windshield, ECO mode, handlebar controls, variable heated grips, windshield memory, white dashboard lighting, oil pan improvements, ignition improvements, rotor and brake improvements, etc.

What makes the 1st gen special are:

1) Some of the non-black colors are still unique (like the silvery light blue "Neutron Silver", for example)

2) It was the first of the 1400's, so it set the stage and glory of the current Concours.
