i have a new 2011 concours.it came with two fobs, the big kipass one and a little one with a key in it. i thought the small fob is supposed to start the bike if you lose the big fob,is that correct? mine wont start with the small fob key or with the extra key inside the kipass fob without the kipass present.do i need to use the stove key ? what am i doing wrong? i just did a test incase i lost my kipass fob and cant get it to start with out it. any help would be great. thanks guys

Yes, you still need the key...
You touch the RFID section of the fob on the plastic bump area on the ignition switch (near the top) and it allows you to press in on the stove knob key and start the bike.
Instructions are in the owners manual that came with the bike.

Page 97-99 of your owner's manual.

cool thanks man, worked like a charm. guess i should have read the book.but as allways you guys are the best

Whilst you are edumacating yourself, read how you can start the bike with a FOB that has a flat battery.
-
ok you talking about the kipass fob

What the other folks said plus, both fobs have a key in them, not just the thin fob.
As already mentioned, you may want to familiarize yourself with the system by using the owner's manual and trying out the different methods. It is not overly complex but I think it is best to become familiar with it when you are relaxed at home instead of in a panic on the side of the road.

For your friends that don't have this great system - here is an alternative for them - BRAT - it is a keyless ignition system that uses your cell phone for the key rather then a FOB. Pass it along - www.bratkey.com (http://www.bratkey.com)
Thanks!

Yup. If anyone sees stuff like this on the C14 boards (or elsewhere for the matter), PM me about it.
