Title: LED Bullets
Post by: RideBellChain on April 06, 2012, 04:23:27 PM
I just put these on my bike:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/400283830068 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/400283830068)

I mounted them to the bracket that holds the yellow reflectors on the front wheel.  Removed the reflector, of course.  Ran power along the brake lines...clean and neat install...they will not light up the road - they're LED's, but they are bright and definitely will get cager's attention.  That's 4 white lights (in the fairing), 2 running lights (amber/turn signals) and now these down low.

If anyone takes me out and says "I didn't see him"...please take the opportunity to punch them in the eye for me.  :)

I'll post pix when I get back from dinner, but let's just say they're brighter than the "upgraded" city lights I have.

Thinking about putting a circuit together that will make these flicker like a headlight modulator...let's see if I can find some time this weekend and remember how...  :)

OK - ride safe!

Says they are for Harley's.......good luck with them. ;) And sometimes you actually do get exactly what you pay for, hopefully these are the exception for you.

Led's are dirt cheap.  I'd say $20 is fair.   They will probably be great for viability.  they will not project much though.

I have a set of small  PIAA lights I want to install. I initially though about mounting to my bathroom bars but, also interested in the reflector mounting area on the front wheel. How effective are they mounted to the wheel when it is going up and down with the suspension?

You're right...here's the pix.

And guys, don't let "Harley" scare you away from what might be a good product... (no you won't catch me on one, but really, that's pretty close-minded isn't it?  Harley guys can play nice, too...)   :)

They're LEDs and as such doesn't really throw too much light, especially because it's unfocused like a headlamp...but, everyone says they're very visible day or night, which is what I wanted to accomplish.   :)
