I decided to take these pics here at work. It was WAY easier to get a sheet of plywood out of my workshop here than it was to get to one in my garage at home.
I slid the plywood up against both tires where they meet the ground and lifted the wood till it touched the bike.
The first spot on the bike that the wood touched was the peg feeler, then the MCE bar. Click the pics to enlarge 'em

In order to get the wood closer to the GSG slider I had to pull it away from the rear tire. This simulates the bike falling over with the MCE bar lifting the rear tire off the ground. I'm not sure that it would happen that way but that's how I took the pics.

I looks to me like this set-up will protect the plastic but as you can see in the last pic, the mirror may take a slight hit.

Is it just me or do I not see any pics with the GSC slider touching wood? ??? :-\

It's close enough for the likes of you J. ;)
I was trying to hold onto my wood and snap the pics at the same time. I tried to get someone else to hold my wood, no one was around. :-X
