Monokey heavier duty. You don't want monolock those are for scooters mostly...

Generally speaking the monoLOCK requires a universal mounting plate, as does the Kawasaki, Shad, etc.
MonoKEY can be directly attached to an after-market rack with either the Givi or SW-motech kit, as shown below.

This thread was made just for you Phil. :)
You won't find a better rack to go under your Givi Monokey.

The JSW comes with a stamped sheet-metal universal mounting plate, it has hardware pieces spot welded on to attach the trunk and the perimeter of the sheet metal plate is turned down about 1/4" to give it some rigidity. It is very difficult to attach to anything because of the sharp sheet metal edge

It fits the Givi monokey set-up on Phil's, twisted throttles, sw motechs plates with the pins for it.
Quite elegant. Ditch the crappy plate that comes with JCW box and the plastic mount that comes on the bike. You can upgrade to any Givi monokey box at anytime you wish. Any size, anytime. Heck, get'em all!

Love my JCW truck, especially since it was so cheap, I was able to invest in a Phil's rack too..

I think my E470 is too big for a scooter, and so far I haven't had an issues because it's flimsy (it isn't).  It's the same box Kawasaki sells for the C14.  Yes it requires a mounting plate, but it looks good and is extremely functional.

Not sure if the Sears trunk is the same as the jc whitney. It looks the same as your picture. Mine came with a plate that sits on top of the OEM plate dropped four bolts down through it and bolted it on, took 10 minutes. The trunk slides on and off with the key.

Cheap trunk, good for what I use it for.

with regard to the givi trunks, what about the "junior economy" ones, like this:

These seem to be a good option if you don't want the extras, just a sturdy trunk. Anyone use one like this?
