Title: Whistle on shut off?
Post by: JerBear on March 16, 2012, 08:37:58 PM
I hear a whistle, very quiet when I shut her down.  It is probably the vent on the gas cap but I don't remember hearing the sound last fall.  Is it appropriate to blow into it to try and clear it if it is partially plugged?

I have heard that sound on every bike I have owned.  It is always the vent on the gas tank either letting air in or out.  Especially noticeable if tank is pretty full and it is a warm day; but it seems, generally, unpredictable.

Thats is the same thing i do, open up the gas cap for a couple of seconds and is done, just like human's , little pressure in the tank and open for a couple of seconds and release pressure  ha ha :cannon:
