I am trying to figure out 3 way or 4 way comm on a SENA SMH10. It appears there has to be one controller and that person can talk to other 2 (or 3) person only and that too one at a time. I was under the impression you can do a open channel with everyone taking, listening, etc. Or am I missing something?
Lets say we pair B with A and C with A. Can B and C be paired? Or is it that only A can talk with B and A can talk with C, while B and C cannot talk?

In looking at my manual it appears to be a tad complicated. Do you have your manual? If not, you need to register at the Sena site and then you can download it. I'm also not sure that everyone can talk at once even if you register a total of 4 headsets. From the manual it appears that you have to hit the jog dial a certain number of times to speak to someone in particular. They do have voice actuated mode but it looks like that is only to a particular headset at a time.
If for some reason you can't get hold of a manual, PM me with your email addy and I'll send it to you. I have the online version as well.
Also, Sena has forums for such questions at the Sena site. You have to be registered, though. Either they or a Sena user should be able to answer your question.

Went for a decent ride the other day with a buddy and his wife, we all have SMH-10s. We synced each helmet with the two others. On the road we could only talk to one person at a time. It was a little clunky switching back of fourth but we would get the hang of it on one more ride. They worked great and didn't have to resync after they turned off.

Update your firmware and you can talk to 3 simultaneously. More once version 4 of the firmware is released in a few weeks.

I'm still not sure of the sequence, but last night my wife and I were talking and a buddy of mine on another Sena clicked to talk to me. At that point all three of us were on open mike. Clear as a bell.

I spoke with Sena yesterday and they confirmed that version 4 will indeed allow up to 4 riders communicate with one another without having to toggle between them. They would not confirm the exact date that rev 4 would come out, other than "over the next few weeks".
