Title: No cost seat mod that does well
Post by: blanton on March 05, 2012, 05:02:00 PM
After seeing rush2112 seat mod and noticing the shape of the air cushions, I took a hip bone measurment and cut reliefs. Using a wire bent in a sordering gun. The cover goes back and looks stock. Rode 540 mi. Yesterday and an pleased...Just thought I would pass it on......blanton

It was about 6 pages back. He trimmed a scoop out to stop from sliding forward. I wanted hip bone relief and for the cover to go back and look stock.

Just took delivery of an '08 Connie yesterday and on the ride home i noticed the seat is just slightly too wide for me and my legs got a little pinched.  Would you mind posting a little more detailed process with how to modify the seat so it fits your rear a little better?

Sure Zixxer10r, I used a sordering gun with a bent wire in the shape of a U...I left the outside of the foam alone so the cover would fit back and appear stock.....A T-30 stapler penatrated the seat base just fine (T-30 is small wire). Using a cross pattern made it conform to my shapley bottom. After the photo I extended the pattern to include the "Boys".....
