Title: What can one get away with without voiding the warranty?
Post by: Cuda on February 20, 2012, 05:08:01 PM: I have seen some changes that I would like to make but I don't want to void the warranty, just what are we able to get away with ? such as

7. Take out the secondard butterfly valves!!!!!!!!!!!
8. Add a Power Commander V with two maps (1 economy, 1 power). The guys from Fuel Moto can hook you up with that.
9. Add a switch so you can change maps on the fly

Post by: gPink on February 20, 2012, 05:16:36 PM: Kaw would have to believe what mods you did directly caused the problem you are having warranty work for. None of the warranty issues I've read about have been caused by the mods you've mentioned. Also everything here is reversible.

Now how about going to the Dealer for the required service? Do I have to for the warranty? I just hit 600 miles and they want $200. to change the oil ? I'd use Red Line .

Post by: Jeremy Mitchell on February 26, 2012, 09:13:38 PM: No need to pay the dealer to do the simple stuff. But as a CYA thing you might want to save your receipts in case they ever question your maintenance in the event of a warranty claim.

Unless you ride in a state, like Virginia, where radar detectors are illegal. Then you might get and even bigger ticket.

Now I have to find out what the LAW is for mounting on motorcycle windshields?
not legal on car windshields here , I like the legal speed set ups ??
