Title: What kind of oil for new K&N air filter

So i just got my new k&n air filter from Murph, fast shipping i must say, it came with this red oil but i remember a post awhile back not to use it but forgot what the other oil was ? and where to get it.

Your only supposed to use K&N filter oil, available at most chain auto part stores. Then again, it looks/feels like atf fluid.
With a new K&N filter, just use it and don't bother cleaning for at least 20k miles, maybe more maybe less, depending on where you live.

Use the oil that came with it. I think it's 2 or 3 drops per ridge. It does not take much. In the future you can get the K&N spray on oil at just about any motorcycle shop.

ok Thanks, i think it was the spray on oil i was trying to think of, gonna get some of that next time around.

Yes, use the oil that came with it, follow the directions, a few drops per ridge, let it sit and ooze down, half hour or so, then drops to fill in white spots. VERY LITTLE IS NEEDED. Good luck, the filter will last years.
