Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the help and great information. I joined this site in shortly after picking up my 08. I will be saying goodbye to my 2010 C-14 and moving on to a different type of bike.
This site proved to be invaluable to me and kept me from getting stranded on my last trip.
K-Rock Saved that day!
Thanks for all the great info and tips!

Fell in love with the Super Tenere.....
Planning a trip to Deadhorse AK this summer, decided the the Super T was the bike to do it on.
-
Yamaha did a good job on the Super Tenere but just can't get over the front end styling(reminds me of that Marvin Martian cartoon character), gonna wait to see how the Triumph Tiger Explorer stacks up.
-
Enjoy your new ride. I too like that new Triumph.

Check these guys out. I'll vouch for them. Great group of folks to spend a weekend riding the Hoh!! Check out their site, lots of rides planned, I'd also suggest checking out http://advcamp.com/alaska-adventure (http://advcamp.com/alaska-adventure) it aint free, but what in life is? There will be plenty of coaching along the way, should be a great chance to perfect bits and pieces of your riding and spend some time with some really nice folks. If you're interested, mention me (Chet), they may have a discount available, no promise, but it sure wouldnt hurt to ask ;D

slightly :offtopic:
Chet, you had a surgery of some sort recently, if I'm not wrong. How's that going?

Thanks for asking Martin, things aint going as well as I had hoped for, I get another injection Wednesday to try to isolate whats wrong. I got told I may be unable to return to work at full capacity and work needs a guy at %100. Big bummer. I did find it kinda funny but the doc doesn't see why I wouldnt be able to keep on doing the MC instructing, so I do have a backup plan already in the works.

I know the feeling... since I bought the Super T, not only my Connie is sitting in the garage but I also unloaded my beloved Tuono. Although fully different than the 2 bikes, the more I ride it the more I like it! I can't believe it myself... Yesterday I rode 400+ miles through Hill Country including Leakey...

Looks like you are going down the very same trail I did some 4 years ago, Chet.
PM me, I'd love to compare experiences if you feel like it.............Bruce

Seen one of those Yamaha's at the dealer. Nice ride, little to heavy for a dual sport IMO. But seemed to be built really well.
What is surprising is I never seen one on the road in Alaska.
