Title: ugliest bike parts (except Concours bits)
Post by: George R. Young on February 03, 2012, 09:34:28 AM
A couple of candidates, the riveted Honda Comstar wheel (polished and highlighted no less) and the rear end of the BSA triple exhaust.

Yep, that black section really accentuates the ugliness ;D

Except that I initiated this in the "It's not a Concours - other Bikes" category, so it's disqualified.

That's true, upon further review, trump overruled.

I think we need a booth review here on this then...
IMO that ugly potato launcher should have never been put on a Connie at the factory to begin with...

Can I get a ruling on Kawi logic or common sense?? (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif) (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/wait.gif)

Even THE GUY upstairs knows it's butt ugly but I think you're still overruled...were in "other bikes".

I'll beat Jim to the bunch, please update title to indicate non C14 exhausts ;D  We are on a connie forum so I think the spud launcher is still in, I just got off the phone with a ref who did the Hawks/Stealers game, he would change his ruling if the price is right 8)

Dude ,I LOVED  that Rocket Three exhaust when it came out !  And after careful inspection and consideration --it still looks pretty good .

In fact ,check out the new BMW sixes-seems they liked it too !   (minus the chrome !)

Of course  , my taste has been questioned before....

That thing makes the tires look ugly.

George,

I respectfully disagree with your first two pics...btw, that is a Reverse Comstar wheel...the original Comstars had the edges that are tastefully highlighted in this example mating with each other on the inside of the "spokes" of the wheel...and that exhaust is an exercise in classic beauty!

As for the PC800... :hail: :hail: :hail:

 ;)

A 'normal' comstar wheel for your consideration.

OK...yes...I would have to agree with you on this one... ;D

Isn't that one from a CX500 Turbo?

Love the wheels!  LOL

The comstar wheels were amazing, and I loved having them on my 82 cb900f.  A person would clean the bike, wax the tank, etc.  Then you got to the wheels.   A feeling of "screw it" came over you since they looked like crap..clean or dirty was of no importance.

PC800 even uglier when open:

Hey!  I always liked the wheels.  I had 165k on it before I passed it along to a friend - still going too.  The PC is a pretty cool bike too.  Great for commuting.

For me the worst is the ST1300 with the bags removed.
It's so bad that I can't even find a decent pic of it on the Interweb.
Best I could find is this pic but from the rear it is TRULY HIDEOUS!  :yikes: :doublepuke:

Other than the rear of the ST, this must be the all-time most hideous bike.

The overall result, but in particular the abnormal proportions between the bike and the windshield, plus, if you see the bike form the front, its too "fat"!
They just retired it from the range in Italy: I think they sold too few of them!
Ah, don't get misled by the picture "alone": when it's ridden looks awful!

O.K.....the Victory Vision takes it-hands down !

That is one butt ugly motorcycle . From the front it looks like Taz eating a basketball ...or maybe Bozo the clown.

Once more a Pacific Coast, this time from 1990. Note the swell front mudguard.

Vee-Stroms won't win any beauty contests from the factory, but when you fool with the paint it can get really bad.  I advise NOT looking at the pic below.  Remember I warned you.

I would actually like to have a PC 800. Always wanted one, & I think when My Connie is paid for, I'll look for one.
