is anyone else having the issue of an annoying buzz around 3000 rpm. cant pinpoint if its the guage cluster or the fairing
-
mine was the instrument cluster. Added some rubber shims on top to get rid of noise. Rubber was from a old innertube.

I've fixed a couple rattles on mine. The worst and most difficult to track down was my bar end weight. Didn't matter how tight it was, it always rattled. I ended up using a little black silicone between the weight and the handlebar and the buzz went away. Another one was the black plastic triangle underneath the windshield. I used a little weatherstripping on the underside of it to stop that buzz.

Even if there is a buzzing on mine there would be no way I could hear it with earplugs and the helmet on. Besides, 3000RPM comes and goes so fast it wouldn't be an issue anyway ;).
-
What gear are you in and how fast are you moving when this buzzing occurs?
-
I had a very annoying buzz on my Suzuki Bandit in a similar narrow RPM range and it was inherent in the fairing design.
So far no such noise on the C14.

+1 here.
Bar end weights: 1,5 mm washer
Black plastic triangle: weatherstripping on the inside of the lip
...and she is as smooth as they come. 8)

Me too. Glad that you mentioned it and thanks to the others for the recommended fixes. I plan to remove the instrument cluster this weekend to make the display modification...

I hope that I can kill the buzz. It makes me crazy!
