After thinking how nice one more inch back would be (handlebars) . I did this .......I had seen the plate on top the risers on this site before the crash......Thought I would try below them.....more pics if interrested.........blanton

Would love to see additional pictures from the riders position showing all the bolts..tks

OK 556ALPHA......Bought a 3 by 12 by 1/2 6061 from Grainger. Made a cardboard patern and cut with a jig saw....used the risers as a guide tool and drilled and tapped......they are mirrow image so after the first the next one went pretty fast..........

The KD just seemed like a good choice ZG.....I did keep the red paint on the shelf....

The start 556ALPHA.......

Looks good, but is there as much bite on the bolts as the original holes? Are the original holes only 1/2" deep? The same hardness? How about the safety issue?
-
Good questions Gsun.....The long bolts are the ones used with the risers....The short ones are the stock ones.......1/2 inch of thread bite seeemed OK but I could be wrong, Now you got me wondering...thanks
-
Looks good blanton.
As far as bolt bite, (I'm not sure of the size bolts used): Threads contact should be at least the same as the bolts diameter. So if it's an 8mm bolt (0.315") and the threaded hole is 8mm (0.315') or more, there should be no issue.

These are what I have on the R1200RT, Blantons uses the same exact principal. They work flawless on the RT. The plate on Blantons looks to be the same thickness at the original bar thickness so I do not see an issue.

556ALPHA.....When you order from Grainger you might a well get enough for these..ben on for 30k and no regretes........blanton

The forward Pegs...(not the red gutter guard).........
-
I bet you can really stretch out with those. I have an 09 and already use Ronnie's pegs. They work out great for me since I am vertically challenged. :(

Did the same thing on my 2010 but put the blocks on top of the 2" risers. I was able to move the bars back another 1 1/4".

Your solution looks better. I could put mine on the bottom but I'm surprised there is enough clearance with the tank.

NICE
How do you guys secure the brake lines where they were once bolted?

I made a simple bracket out of bar aluminum bolted to the riesers and used it to relocate the junction blocks.
