Title: home made Adjustable Risers ??????????
Post by: DonB on January 27, 2012, 08:28:30 PM
Has any one of the members made something like these for our machine?
I know there are a couple members that have great ability with making things on a cnc machine or other metal working tools
I am thinking about something like the HeliBars handle bars

Phil's ape hangers. But you might have to twist his arm to get him to make a set. Not on his web site.

This is how I approached the problem, 3" or 4" extension up or back in 6 degree increments. Cheaper than a Chiropractor. (But not by much)  ;D

Left an email for Phil regarding the extensions but haven't got a reply yet.  Is he still selling items?  Maybe he is vacationing?!?

Wow, I really like this setup, but $695. I might as well pawn off the kid and get a Smuggler too.

Ok I'm gonna thread jack. Anybody want to buy a foul mouth teenage boy?  ;D

From the looks of the Helibar set-up, it's obvious his price includes a LOT of design, prototype and machine  time. They look like he set out to solve a big problem and tried to give as much adjustment as possible. I know I took almost a year to come up with my simplified solution and I don't have to get paid for my time. That, plus the fact his target audience is probably numbered in the hundreds instead of tens-of-thousands, means his per-unit cost has to be high. Looks really good, I wish they had been available a couple years ago.

Are you making your simplified solution for us to purchase.

Only on-request, they were my solution to my problem and I've made a couple sets for others. They take me about a week to make so I only can do a few.

How much are you charging for a set?
