Title: Pitt Bull Stand or???
Post by: MrPepsi on January 12, 2012, 10:14:58 AM
I would like to be able to put my bike up on the center stand, then use something to pickup up the front tire off the ground so I can spin the front tire. Now, both tires are off the ground. I'd like to do this inexpensively if possible, maybe $30-$50? Spending top dollar for a Pitt Bull stand is not out of the question though if its my only option. My biggest goal is to have an easier job cleaning the front wheel when I wash the bike. Yes I said, I wash my bike.

If you have the bike on the center stand you can for free simply lift the front off the ground with your hand under the bottom of the fork and spin the wheel a half turn for cleaning, that's what I do...

I like to spray and scrub, so I need something else to do it.
You wanna come over and sit on the back of my seat for me?

I bought a stand off of ebay that was in that price range.  It works well for me.  Let me see if I can find the paperwork on it.  At a job right now.

I'll do it if you supply the beer.

Two 35# dumbells in the topcase work pretty well for me...

I have Pit Bull stands that I bought for my old sportbike. The front stand works just fine for the Connie if you have it on the center stand. That's how I remove the front wheel.

By the way, I certainly don't know all the brands out there, but I started with a  cheaper stand and was extremely disappointed. Pit Bull leaves no doubt about quality.

I have also seen posted that the Connie does not require pins for the pitt bull that it works standard.

How about a block of wood under the front of the engine and a cheapie scissor jack?  I bought my genuine GM scissor jack at Wal-Mart for around $10.  I use it when I change my front tire.

I have  a pitbull front stand and have lifted my c 14 with it, but its doing it the hard way.   A small, scissor jack, from a compact car, will sit right under the engine and its easy to lift. VERY stable as well.
