Today i receive my new MCENTERPRISES front and rear guards due to the accident i had 3 weeks ago....
the front guards more compact and the end(tail) to the plastic fender of the bike...doesn't exist anymore....preventing with a hard stroke the breaking of the plastics....REMARKABLE JOB!! VERY PROFESSIONALS INDID!!!
AND ΤΗΕΥ certainly watch the forum.....NO doubt about that!!! :chugbeer:

pics?
-
Just looked at their web site anbd they don't show the newdesign yet, at least I couldn't find it. Pictures would be nbice and how much are they?
-
Yes would very much like to see pics. I have the small rear on now and had the old front guards for my 10 but just didn't like how big they were. Would love to see pics.
-
Checked them out one time. In my opinion, I felt they were waaaay overpriced and better, cheaper alternatives available. Just my opinion which, of course, I'm entitled to. Now, if insurance is paying, that may be a different matter.
Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but twice as large and twice as much? ;)

is it anything like this one from twisted throttle?

if not, does anyone have any experience with the TT ones??

Maybe it is just me, but it doesn't look like those would prevent fairing damage during a tip over.

I hope so maybe they will post some information on the new design, I e-mailed them today so if I get a response I'll post it.

HERE WE ARE......!!!
-
Does anyone have a picture of the original ones for the front not installed on the bike?
-
From the pictures on their web site if you look at the way they mount they look like the bars for the 10 & 11's not the 08 & 09's. Maybe that s the new design, the way the mount.
-
HERE WE ARE......!!!
Oh yeah, the handicapped bathroom rails. Keep them when you sell your bike for use in your bathroom once you need the extra help getting up. :stirpot:
-
and how much are they?
Well, the old ones were about $ 350 shipped, so these should be in the same range.

TRUE OR NOT,
These handicapped rails or whatever you like, save my legs from trapped in the motorcycle after 50 meters of sliding, save me financial speaking over 2000-3000$ for sure....in a few words worth my money 1000%.... :chugbeer:
those who use them(smart ones!!) know what i mean... ;) ;D
for someone mentioned that before...no it's not the way they mount....almost new design...

Most importantly, you're okay.
-
You got any photos of them mounted on the bike yet?
-
NO....NOT YET.... :stirpot:
-
How about a picture of the old style and the new style so we can see the difference.
-
Do they come with an air bag and curb feelers?
-
NO....NOT YET.... :stirpot:
Well, please do. We loves our entertainment here...
-
Do they come with an air bag and curb feelers?
The air bag is normally already holding onto the handle bars and the curb feelers are normally up on the foot pegs. :battle: :P ;D

Funny, I always put the air bag on the back.
-
Let's hope the air bag doesn't read this forum...

No, I'm safe. ;D
-
I was quoted $350 for the front set and $175 for the rear.
Handicapped rails or not, I'm ordering them next week--they'll give me a good place to mount my aux lighting.
The one thing I loved about my ST1300 and Goldwing was the built-in tip over protection.
-
WISE DECISION.... ;)  :chugbeer:
-
I agree with the GreekWarLord. The trophy ears ain't pretty, but the do work. I will keep my set on and keep riding.
-
I still have not mounted my fairing guards, but I just might. Especially if I decided to mount auxiliary lights on the bike.
-
They look like they would add a better anchor point for tie-down straps, etc. when traveling. Would be nice if the front bars had a place to rest your feet when going down the highway.
-
I am currently in the process of installing mine. I have to say the the thought of an insurance claim, bike downtime, and thousands of $$$s in damage is far uglier than the ugly bars. It's all subjective though.
-
How about a picture of them attached to the bike?
-
How about a picture of them attached to the bike?
All done...
-
How are they different from the originals.
Less width?
What was the price?
Easy to install?
-
Very easy to install, just have to re-route a couple coolant lines. I was not aware they change the design, sorry I couldn't help.
-
All done...
Looks good. Do the rear guards interfere with the bags at all? Also, can you take a pic from the side with the bags off, please?
Thanks,
Chris

The rear guards are the short version so there is no interference with the bags at all. If you ride two-up your passenger may have some peg issues. I made the wife get her own bike so that's not an issue for me ;). I'll see if I can get some pics after work today.
-
How are they different from the originals.
The tubes are larger on the re-designed ones.
There may be other changes as well.
-
Are they ADA compliant?
-
Those look exactly the same as mine.

They look like they are meant for the Police Package. They really aren't all that aesthetically challenged. I can see me getting the rear ones and combined them with a set of front frame sliders.
-
What about the bars from Bygdawg? Has anyone compared them to the McEnterprises ones?
-
I emailed Bygdawg about his, told him I was interested in his guards and basically asking him what the difference between his and MC Enterprise's. He never responded. Lost my business.

Did the thread with instructions on trimming the cooling fins on the fairings so they can be taken off without removing the bars go down with the other site? If anyone here has done this, please post up some pics please. I tried searching with no success (I'm not the best at searching though). Thanks for the help!

I did it when I originally installed my MC bars. I just removed the right side panel earlier today in order to get access to the header nuts and I have not put it back on yet. I will take a picture tonight and post it up. BTW- EVERY header nut was loose. I know they don't call for much in terms of a torque requirement, but these were really loose. I don't want to highjack this thread, but removal of the tupperwear (right side) and removal of the lower radiator bolt was required (by me anyway) to get access to the two of the header nuts. It MAY be possible without removing the plastic, but I could not get it done.

That's fantastic! I sure would appreciate it. Ready for the unbelievable truth? I checked my header nuts while installing the MC Enterprise bars and the ones I could reach were tight! I was surprised...

Thanks so much, this is perfect!

Well, had you said "the" instead of "my", you could have gotten away with it! Otherwise, "bolts" maybe?
