Hi all,
Have been viewing the forum for about 18 mos ago and am amazed at the depth and validity of the information. Makes it easier for an owner of this awesome moto to find resources and I appreciate the willingness to share.
Curious if anyone has a resource to purchase this A-Tech mirror replacement assembly thru a US dealer. Found these images on a Japan site but the cost for just the CF base exceeds 200USD. If purchasing the mirrors it adds over 450USD to the price of the base. Perhaps someone is building a similar product locally. Appreciate any ideas.

Why is this an upgrade? Looks kinda hokey to me. :o

I suspect it raises the mirrors on the 08-09's. As you probably know, Kawasaki raised them on the '10's.

in dont really mind the mirrors on my 08, but i came from a pure sport bike perspective........i dont think his mods look that bad though, i'm sure it gives a better view .....
-
I like the position of the mirrors on my 09, They let know my bags haven't flown off yet!! ;D

I think the idea of those covers is to mount where the original mirrors mount and then support a stalk- type mirror. The new mirrors could be any reasonable size and moved to any practical height. The adapters make the C-14 available to take standard mirrors, both factory as well as aftermarket, instead of having to use the original, rigidly placed and shaped mirrors.

In my opinion, it would change the look of the bike and I agree, hokey to me as well. Just my 2c.

Match the body color, bolt covers, and a better mirror... and that may not be a bad solution. But a LOT depends on the replacement mirror selected, as the ones in the link aren't great.

I have been riding bikes with mirrors mounted like the C14 for so long that when I get an a bike with mirrors on the stalks it just seems really weird.
I do think that if the C14 mirrors did not come to quite such a sharp point and was just a little more rounded on the outboard side it would make the mirrors more useful.

I don't know - I kind of like it ! Much cleaner than the solution offered by one our own -no offense intended. It did the job ,but looked kind of odd -like mirrors on posts !
She does look sweet in white ,though, huh? ;)

A-Tech's website http://a-tech.org/shop/index.html (http://a-tech.org/shop/index.html)
Kawasaki link, then click 1400GTR.
A-Tech's price is 15,570 yen which today is 204USD not inclding tax, shipping, etc. Perhaps a North American shop can produce the base. Anyone out there have a suggestion? Looking for ideas folks.
I like the suggestion of matching paint and aftermarket mirrors. Would improve appearance, rear view, and without bags would reduce width.

I kinda like em. I'm not a carbon fiber lover though. I like paint. Maybe they have plain plastic ones for painting.
If a group buy is started, I would be in.
-
Yeah ,after seeing the photo of the whole bike ,I think would be in on a reduced priced buy also.
Also tempted by that White /Black paint job . Nice ! I better go check that thread about paint prices again ! :D
-
I also think it would look good with the base painted to match the bike.
The other item I like is the tail light piece they make. I've never understood what in the world Kawasaki was thinking when they put the tail light where it is. It looks like an aftermarket light from J.C. Whitney.

Normally, I really dislike white. But for some reason, the C-14 looks pretty dern good in white with black!

That makes 4c.

Yeah, I just can't wrap my head around it. But then again, that's why we can all make the bike our own. ::)

Hey, I'll trade my KiPiss for your mirrors?!?!?
-
While the view was better with the C10 mirrors, they vibrated and kept coming loose (at least on my old bike). Between the two, I'll take the 08/09 mirrors any day of the week. I bought my bike in early Aug 07. Adjusted them once and haven't had to re-adjust since.

top, for the stalks. anyone employ these on the 08-09 C14 yet
