Title: What will I gain with Power Commander?
Post by: jkramer on November 21, 2011, 04:54:46 PM
I have a 2008 concours,2brothers ex.,k&n air filter, and flies removed. What will I gain in HP and fuel milege by adding a power commander. Also what is the difference between the PC and a juice box. Thanks

Can't comment on the juice box, never used one. With the exhaust still restricted your main gains have already been realized.  An FI modifier will give you a better A/F which will increase mileage somewhat. A PC V with Autoune will give you as good as you can get without dyno tuning. An ECU reflash is another option.

Gentle reminder for all....it really helps to have a descriptive subject line.

Better fuel economy, more power.....

On my 08, I gained a lot of lower rpm smoothness.  That range as you leave a stoplight at normal speed.   Removing the files gave the bike more power, but the pcv made the power feel much nicer.  Fuel mileage is up as well, by abotu 5-8% IF I lay off the throttle.

Based on what I've said, if it somehow turned out the pcv was taking power away (its not, but IF), I would still run it. The improved low rpm response if great.

For me it wasn't the gain in hp but the peace of mind knowing the fuel ratio is correct.
