Title: Christmas sale on Phil's Farkels Luggage racks
Post by: philipintexas on November 12, 2011, 11:14:10 AM
It's that time of the year again and my racks will be on sale through Christmas day 2011. $10.00 off and $10 shipping to all 50 states, $20 shipping to Canada and $30 shipping to the rest of the world. All 3 styles included and I have the mounting kits for Givi monoKEY trunks ($20) and T-nut sets ($25) for trunks using a universal mounting plate. Same day shipping in most cases, 2-3 day delivery in the U.S. and 6-10 day delivery to the rest of the world. I can ship 5-6 racks for the same price as 1, so if you want to combine orders to distant destinations, this can be a significant savings.  www.philsfarkels.com (http://www.philsfarkels.com)

Sorry Jaxter, I missed your inquiry. The style-B is most popular by a hair followed by "A" and "C". With the introduction of the darker color bikes style-C is coming on strong. Since most folks use a trunk, the "B" has the advantage that if it becomes scratched or stained it can be re-furbished in a couple seconds with a random-orbital sander.

I still have the OEM rack on the bike, but that's only because I have not put anything on it - yet.  :)

Do you have helmet locks that attach to your luggage racks?  Seems like I saw some on the old board before the crash, but I don't see anything like that on your website.  I've had style "C" on my '08 for a good while now and even with a good bit of use hauling a soft trunk bag, no scratches.  Your black finish is very durable.

JOER: I have never needed them so I didn't try to find one. The rack is 3/8" thick on both sides so I think one could drill/tap holes on the underside of the rack to hold a lock. I think there are some made to fit 1" round bars that would also fit on the rear frame assembly. There was a post showing that but I can't find it. If you find a satisfactory lock you think will work I can drill/tap holes in a rack to hold one or two. Contact me directly if you find one.
