Removed my tire pressure sensors and now I am reinstalling them. Do they need to be turned a certain direction? Looks like I have two choices.
-
I turn mine with the direction of the rim. Less chance of the tire hitting on reinstallation.
-
These are the same as the ones used on Gold Wings and I have seen a Gold Wing diagram that specifies the square end oriented toward direction of wheel rotation. Others have said it makes no difference but I have installed mine per the Gold Wing diagram and have gotten positive results - less prone to low temperature battery low warnings.
-
Kawasaki service manual states there is no direction, either way is fine.
-
Not sure, but I think they rotate to a position once the wheel starts turning (possibly why you cannot get a reading until the bike has been moving for a bit).
-
Thanks guys. I turned them both with square end towards the back. Let's see how that works.

Upper back or lower back?
-
With the valve on top facing down. Rolling into the round edge.

Goldwing riders orient them to face the nears Dairy Queen ;D (if anyone does not understand this, let me know).

I'll bite...why Dairy Queen?? :-)

ThatÅ› obvious Will.........Goldwing-Class food source.......... :)
sorry Jim, I had to. :rotflmao:

Not according to Kawasaki- they will work the same in either direction. In fact, looking at the data sheet for the control chip, I do not think the direction can make a difference; centripetal force is the same no matter what direction the sensor faces (regarding the rotation of the wheel).
