Title: Who else besides Baker makes hand wings for the C14?
Post by: Jeremy Mitchell on September 28, 2011, 03:16:38 PM
Just like the title says.  I really like the look of the Motax wings, but they are currently unavailable.  Does anyone have a link to some good looking hand wings?

I sent Motax an email today asking about importing to the USA.  Have to see what happens.

Krome: I make a set for the 10-11, you can see them here....

I have one set left in stock.

Anybody with an 08-09 in the Denver area? I would like to experiment for a day on making a set for the earlier model...

There you go Jeremy, this is what I was talking about in the other thread. I didn't remember that he was only making them for the newer models though.

I  bought a set of baker's but they were to low after I put my bar risers on so I used their brackets and a friend cut a set of bigger wind deflectors from an old windshield he had.

If anyone is interested, I have and extra pair of new/unused ProjektD wind deflectors to sell for $50.  They fit the '08 and 09 model C14.  I doubt they'll fit the later models.

Wanna trade for a set of Murph's/Phil's wedges?

Will they work well with Murph's risers?  Do you have any pics you could post up.  Right now for the wings available the ProjektD look the best.

I heard back from Motax.  Still need to figure out what shipping would cost and possible VAT.

Would there be any interest in a group buy on these?

Their replies to me through email were very curt.  "None in stock" and "don't plan on making any more".  Maybe my money isn't as green.   ::)

Maybe your name doesn't sound French enough?

Don't forget that the wings for an '08/'09 might not work well for later models.

I'm surprised that you're not jumping on Bud's offer? ZG had both the Motax and the ProjektD's in hand and chose the ProjektD's.

Wow!  I asked from the prospective of being a dealer and importing to the USA.  I did order a pair from a French dealer (not Motax).  Because our exchange rate SUCKS with the euro they are expensive going that route.

Flathead's solution does look elegant with fewer parts.  KISS is always good.

Jeremy: If you look here http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=2854.msg38843#msg38843] http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=2854.msg38843#msg38843 (http://[url) I've got some pics up.  The beauty of mine is that I cut them myself so I can make them taller if need be... On mine I originally did not have risers and the airflow never touched my hands.  I've since installed Murphs risers and I can feel just a bit of airflow on the backs of my hands.  The next set I make will be 1/2"-3/4" taller.

ZG doesn't know, he has an 09...

You could ask ProjektD though, I've bought a few farkles from them and am always impressed with the quality and fast shipping!

Emailed them yesterday and they responded:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email and interest in our products.

At this time we do not yet have our Aero Wings for the 2010-2012 model of the Concours14.

We are working on the design and hope to have them ready towards the end of this year.

If will keep you informed once they are available.

Let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Thank you and best regards,
Martin Lee

Yep, this is true. Good memory C!

I can remember important things such as this ZG, but ask me what I had for dinner last night and I'll come up with a blank.    :o

Make sure to paint the nuts and bolts black, it makes it look alot better IMO...

I just did mine last night and mounted them back on for the winter months, low temps are already dropping here in the PNW!
