This tire has 2 mm center tread left with 12841 miles on it. I am replacing it because I rode it flat for 6 miles on my bent rim and the carcass may have been damaged. I would not bother with it anyway since it cannot have enough miles left to make it worth my effort to remount. I got my money's worth out of this $75 tire! This tire did cup fairly quickly but showed no adverse handling effects other than when riding with no hands.

Dang! 13K miles is a rather impressive figure!
-
That's a lot of miles! Anyone compare how it handles compared to stock and PR2/3's?

Very nice amount of miles.

It handles as good as a PR2 or Angel, better than OEM Bridgestone.

The 009 Raven is a decent tire.
I get almost 3K out of a rear. I mix and match for around 200.00 I can do the 009 rear with a Pilot Road front.
They handle good in all weather and do well in twisty regions.
I have done three 009 Rear PR fronts and I have no complaints.
Shinko makes some decent tires these days.

I sure wouldn't call that decent.

It is all relative to where you live and how you ride.
I totally hate tire threads becuase of comments like yours.
Other riders think that it is OK to get 8K miles from a set of tires... Sure if you never break 55mph that would be acceptable.
Some of us actually use the C-14 and occasionally exceed the speed limit. Life is too short to own a C-14 and not use its powerplant.
Others of us NEVER get on an interstate nor do we have four lane roads readily available for our access from point A to get to point B...
I personally live in the mountains and rarely see a straight road.
This gobbles up my tires from edge to edge in under 3K miles.
I am lucky to get close to 3K on all of my bikes.
I know people who are lucky to get 1000 miles on a set of tires riding only on the streets.
So before making comments on a tire thread, you need to understand, location, rider skill, road conditions, etc... We are not all the same.
Not all of us are stuck in a crappy location with crappy straight roads and speed limits.

^ true dat, Mike I like you more and more everytime you post. ;D
We should meet up one day, you're not too awful far from me. :chugbeer:

Mike, you obviously ride harder than most of us and I salute you for it, brother!
I live in a hilly, rural area and hit the twisties nearly every day and avoid main roads whenever I can. so I think there is more to it than location.

sounds good. I'm up to about 5500 mile on a connti motion front tire and still looks good! may try the shinko next on the front to see if theres a differnce in handling.
